Relenza

Relenza is used for:

Treating uncomplicated influenza in patients 7 years old and older who have had symptoms for no more than 2 days. It may also be used to prevent influenza in patients 5 years old and older.

Relenza is an antiviral agent. It works by interfering with viral enzymes that allow respiratory viruses to grow and spread.

Do NOT use Relenza if:

• you are allergic to any ingredient in Relenza , to lactose, or to milk protein

Before using Relenza :

Some medical conditions may interact with Relenza . Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

• if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
• if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
• if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
• if you have heart problems or a lung disease, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or emphysema, or if you have a lung infection

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Relenza . However, no specific interactions with Relenza are known at this time.

Ask your health care provider if Relenza may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.
