Nasonex Spray is used for:Treating and preventing allergic and nonallergic nasal symptoms including congestion, sneezing, itching, and runny nose. It is also used for treatment of growths in the nose (nasal polyps). Nasonex Spray is a corticosteroid. It works by reducing inflammatory reactions in the nasal airway in response to allergens and irritants in the air. Do NOT use Nasonex Spray if:- you are allergic to any ingredient in Nasonex Spray.
Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you. Before using Nasonex Spray:Some medical conditions may interact with Nasonex Spray. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you: - if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
- if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
- if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
- if you have active or inactive tuberculosis or a positive skin test for tuberculosis
- if you have diarrhea, herpes simplex in or around the eye, infections of the respiratory tract, measles or chickenpox, parasitic or viral infections, recently received a vaccination, untreated fungal or bacterial infections
- if you have nasal septum ulcers, or recently had nasal surgery or nasal trauma
Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Nasonex Spray. Because, little, if any, of Nasonex Spray is absorbed into the blood, the risk of it interacting with another medicine is low. This may not be a complete list of all interactions that may occur. Ask your health care provider if Nasonex Spray may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.
