Lotrisone CreamGeneric Name: Clotrimazole/Betamethasone Cream Brand Name: LotrisoneLotrisone Cream is used for:Treating certain fungal skin infections, including ringworm, athlete's foot, and jock itch. It also relieves redness and itching associated with infection. Lotrisone Cream is an antifungal and corticosteroid combination. It works by weakening the cell membrane of certain fungi. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory and anti-itching agent. Do NOT use Lotrisone Cream if:- you are allergic to any ingredient in Lotrisone Cream
- you are taking pimozide or an ergot alkaloid (eg, ergotamine)
Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you. Before using Lotrisone Cream:Some medical conditions may interact with Lotrisone Cream. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you: - if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
- if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
- if you have allergies to medicines or other substances
- if you have diaper rash, eczema, measles, tuberculosis (TB) or a positive TB skin test, chickenpox, shingles, or thinning of the skin
- if you have recently received a vaccination
Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Lotrisone Cream. Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following: - Barbiturates (eg, phenobarbital), carbamazepine, hydantoins (eg, phenytoin), or rifampin because they may decrease Lotrisone Cream's effectiveness
- Clarithromycin because the risk of certain side effects may be increased
- Ergot alkaloids (eg, ergotamine), imatinib, live vaccines, macrolide immunosuppressants (eg, tacrolimus), pimozide, or ritodrine because their actions and the risk of their side effects may be increased by Lotrisone Cream
- Hydantoins (eg, phenytoin) or interleukin-2 because their effectiveness may be decreased by Lotrisone Cream
