Campral is used for:Treating alcohol addiction by helping certain patients to avoid alcohol. Campral is used in combination with a treatment program that includes social support. Campral is an anti-alcohol agent. It is thought to work by restoring the balance of certain chemicals in the brain of patients who have used large amounts of alcohol. Do NOT use Campral if:- you are allergic to any ingredient in Campral
- you have severe kidney problems

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you: - if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
- if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
- if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
- if you have kidney problems or a history of depression or suicidal thoughts or behaviors
